NASHVILLE, Tenn. (April 14, 2020) – Firestone Building Products, LLC (FSBP) announced the list of top contractors who received designation within the Firestone Master Contractor Program. The industry’s longest running program recognizes the most elite commercial roofing contractors in North America and Latin America.
The Master Contractor Program recognizes the top five percent of Firestone Red Shield Licensed Roofing Contractors based on the quality and square footage of installed systems covered by the Red Shield Warranty, including RubberGard™ EPDM, UltraPly™ TPO, asphalt, metal, and Gaco™ waterproofing systems. The program awards distinction within two levels: Master Contractor and President’s Club Master Contractor, which honors the top one percent of Firestone Red Shield Licensed roofing contractors. The Master Contractor Awards include the prestigious Inner Circle of Quality and Best of the Best Awards. FSBP also announced its list of contractors awarded Partner in Quality.
“With the Firestone Master Contractor program, we recognize and celebrate the commitment to quality and the partnership our top contractors exemplify,” said Taylor Cole, FSBP president.
The Inner Circle of Quality Award (ICQ) was given to 127 Master Contractors based on their company’s Quality Incidence Rating (QIR), which is calculated for Firestone contractors who have installed at least 1 million square feet of Firestone roofs currently under warranty.
2020 marks 12 years of Firestone recognizing Best of the Best contractors. These individuals must meet qualifications including having a 0.0 QIR rating, a five-year tenure as a Master Contractor, status as a five-year recipient of the Inner Circle of Quality Award and currently have at least eight million square feet under warranty. The 27 contractors recognized this year have a cumulative 500 million square feet of Firestone roofs currently under warranty and have been named Best of the Best a combined 133 times.
Four Firestone contractors were also honored with a Harvey Award, named in honor of Harvey Firestone. The annual Harvey Award embodies the tradition of innovation, superior products and quality service that continue to guide Firestone today. The award includes distinction in Durability, Innovation, Energy Efficiency, Conservation-Sustainability and Architectural Excellence. Each award recognized a contractor and project that best showcased the use of specific products or that met a design need or challenge. This year’s Harvey Award winners are Dry-Tech Commercial Roofing Services, Inc. (Durability), Dixie Roofing (Innovation), Herzog Roofing (Energy Efficiency), and Flynn – US (Architectural Excellence).
FSBP inducted two new members into the Master Contractor Hall of Fame during the event in March. The distinction now encompasses 21 long-standing partners who have been recognized for their exemplary craftsmanship, superior leadership and overall distinguished presence within the commercial construction industry. The 2020 inductees are Nu-Tec Roofing, Indianapolis, IN, and Gunter Roofing, Scottsville, KY.
“We are proud to welcome these contractors into the Master Contractor Hall of Fame,” said Cole. “They earned the distinction of the best contractors in the commercial construction business based on their long history of exemplary work and partnership with Firestone.”
The Master Contractor program is now in its 33rd year and this year’s Master Contractor event marked the 29th occasion since it was first held in Indianapolis.
FSBP also announced its annual list of Partner in Quality recipients, awarded to contractors who installed at least eight warranted roofs each year for the past 5 years, maintained 1 million square feet under warranty and achieved a preferred annual QIR.
