The French design and engineering company LUMICENE called on Elevate for the insulation and waterproofing of their new LUMIPOD modules, targeting both individuals and the hotel sector. These prefabricated, round housing modules are available in 3 different sizes, ranging from an 18 m² minimalist hotel room to a 36 m² family cocoon. Resolutely innovative, these single-module structures are manufactured off-site. Their premium architecture, atypical and respectful of the environment, required the implementation of efficient and sustainable technical solutions like those proposed by the Elevate team.

The roofing solution proposed by ALPEX, which is Elevate’s authorized distributor in the Auvergne-Rhône Alpes region, was a truly complete one. The roof assembly consisted on the Elevate V-Gard vapor barrier membrane, the Elevate RESISTA AK polyisocyanurate (PIR) insulation panels and the Elevate RubberCover EPDM waterproofing membrane, which is perfect for small residential roofs up to 150 m².
ALPEX’s service extended beyond the roof, as they also trained the LUMICENE teams in the installation. For two days, they offered theoretical and practical courses at the LUMICENE workshop in Lyon, where the modules are created. This prefabrication system guarantees speed and quality in a factory-controlled environment without climatic constraints.
"We were looking for a waterproofing solution that was easy to install in our workshop and allowed the rapid on-site assembly of the LUMIPOD, which is delivered in two parts to simplify transport”, explains Clément Salvaire, Managing Director of LUMICENE. “Our choice fell on the Elevate RuberCover EPDM membrane, which is in perfect harmony with our specifications. All our teams had to do was position the membrane on the roof, before cutting it following the shape of the semi-circles, then adhere it to the substrate with bonding adhesive. Once on-site, we joined the two semi-circles together using Elevate’s QuickSeam Cover Strip. We also had available all the finishing accessories to guarantee the sealing of the roof details, such as the rainwater downpipes or the outlet of the woodstove. Another advantage was the availability of the V-Gard vapor barrier and the RESISTA AK PIR insulation panel. Elevate provided us with a complete roofing system, totally compatible and simplifying the daily exchanges”.
