In the summer of 2020, Alpewa started renovation works on a section of the roof of the apple processing and storage warehouse of Consorzio Valentina, part of the Mezzacorona Group. The existing roof, consisting of sandwich panels, was leaking and the gutters were too small and did not provide adequate drainage.
As part of the renovation, OSB panels were first fixed through the sandwich panels to the prefabricated concrete beams. Afterwards, about 2,800 m² of 1.1 mm thick Elevate RubberGard EPDM roofing membrane were fully adhered on top of the OSB panels. The availability of the membrane in wide rolls, up to 9.15 m for this project, facilitated the installation process. A new gutter system was also put in place, now in continuity with the roof (not recessed).
EPDM is the most future-proof roofing solution when it comes to sustainability, performance and design freedom. Learn more about the role it played within this project and many others by discovering its benefits.
